Simple
Calendar

A
simple calendar identifies the date with a third hand that points
to the numbers 1 to 31 usually located around the outside of the
clock dial. (see photo below).
This type of calendar changes the date sometime between 11 p.m.
and 2 a.m. (providing the hand is properly adjusted).
To set the calendar, adjust the time, stopping at each
strike point and allowing the clock to complete the strikes) until
the calendar hand advances to the next day. This will signify the
clock is at the p.m. time when the calendar hand is supposed to
change.
Continue turning the clock hands as above until you are at least
at 6 a.m. Turn the red hand until yesterdays' date is shown
.
Next continue turning the minute hand clockwise as above until the
red calendar hand advances to the next day, (today between ,12:00
midnight and 3:00 a.m. until the correct time is displayed. This
may be a full 24 hours beyond the original setting). The clock
will now be adjusted to the correct date and the time will be
shown as a.m. or p.m.
