The Carriage Clock

Winding the clock

The photo on the left indicates the winding arbors for the time and strike mechanisms.

The clock should be fully wound once per week. Wind each position fully.

To set the hands to the correct time, use the small end of the key and turn in the direction of the arrow as indicated on the back plate of the movement.

Stop at each half hour and hour to allow the clock to strike each hour completely before advancing the hands to the next half hour.

Do not turn the hands backwards!

Adjusting the time keeping

Your clock has been regulated using state of the art timing equipment and does not normally need any adjusting.

If however, climatic conditions, (temperature, humidity) cause the clock to run slower or faster than desired a slight adjustment can be made by the owner.

As pictured to the left, the clock can be regulated by moving the balance regulator lever very slightly to the FASTER or SLOWER direction.

WARNING! This component of the clock mechanism is extremely FRAGILE and the utmost care must be taken when making these adjustments. Any abuse can damage the clock and VOID any warranty.
