Strike Adjustment Method 1

WARNING:Not all clock will allow the hands to be moved backwards. This procedure is not recommended for all clocks and serious damage can result. The author claims no responsibility for damage or injury resulting from following this procedure. Please check the other methods that may suit your particular clock.

Problem: Clock struck 12 o'clock and hands register 2 o'clock
 

Correct strike count as follows:

Turn the minute hand (long hand) backwards to 1:40 as shown as the shaded area above until a click is heard. Slowly move the minute hand forwards to 2 o'clock and allow the clock to strike. (This will be the strike for 12:30). Again move the minute backwards to 1:40 as shown as the shaded area above until a click is heard. Slowly move the minute hand forwards to 2 o'clock and allow the clock to strike. (The the strike for 1 o'clock). Repeat this procedure for 1:30 and again until the clock strikes 2 o'clock as the hands indicate. This brings the strike into sequence.

To set the clock to the correct time, move the minute hand forward to 2:30 and allow it to strike, then to 3 o'clock and allow to strike. Continue this procedure until the clock is set to the correct time.
